Tailor Location: CHANEL London Boutiques

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

WHAT IMPACT YOU CREATE AT CHANEL

Combining technical mastery with client-centric service, you will:

  • Ensure each garment is impeccably tailored to the client’s measurements, upholding the creative intent of the Studio and the highest standards of the House.
  • Act as an ambassador of CHANEL’s style and values, delivering a unique, personalized experience and helping each client feel their most confident.
  • Collaborate closely with Fashion Advisor during the Ready-to-Wear sales ceremony, providing expert advice and recommendations.
  • Foster lasting relationships with clients through attentive, empathetic service and expert guidance on garment care and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Creator of the CHANEL Experience

  • Collaborate with Fashion Advisors during fittings to ensure a seamless, luxury client journey.
  • Take precise measurements, pin garments, and recommend alterations in keeping with CHANEL’s codes and the spirit of each collection.
  • Participate in and lead fittings, offering expert guidance with warmth and professionalism.
  • Prepare garments for final fitting and ensure timely, immaculate delivery to clients.

Craftsmanship & Technical Excellence

  • Conduct meticulous alterations and repairs on both simple and structured pieces, ensuring invisible, precise results.
  • Thoroughly assess each garment, identify necessary adjustments, and execute alterations without compromising design integrity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fabrics, construction techniques, and the latest collection guidelines.
  • Perform rigorous quality checks, guaranteeing precision, cleanliness, and craftsmanship.

Operational Efficiency

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully equipped tailor shop, ensuring tools and supplies are in optimal condition.
  • Record and track all alteration activities using CHANEL’s after-sales platforms and procedures.
  • Coordinate alteration workflow, manage timelines, and communicate clearly with boutique staff and management.
  • Participate in morning briefs to share expertise and collection-specific information.

Team & Brand Contribution

  • Demonstrate agility and flexibility to support boutique needs, especially during peak periods (Fashion Week, sales, etc.).
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the alteration service, assisting with inventory and supply management.
  • Exhibit strong team spirit, collaborating with colleagues and seeking managerial support as needed.
  • Uphold CHANEL’s standards of punctuality, professionalism, and personal presentation.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Proven expertise as a tailor, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in luxury fashion.
  • Deep knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and design principles.
  • Technical mastery in operating sewing machines and overlockers with precision.
  • Exceptional craftsmanship, showcasing outstanding sewing and finishing skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination to achieve flawless results.
  • Organizational excellence, with the ability to manage time effectively and solve problems creatively.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with clients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to exceptional service, ensuring every client experience reflects CHANEL’s standards of luxury.
