Talent Acquisition and HR Officer

Fixed Term Contract (Hybrid)

We’re Westcotts – a Top 50+50 Accountancy Practice and Real Living Wage Employer, with over 290 team members based across offices in Devon and Somerset.

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition and HR Officer to join our People Team on a Fixed Term basis from ideally September 2026 through to January 2028.

Reporting to the People Director and working closely with the wider People Team, you’ll play a key role in attracting and recruiting talented individuals to Westcotts. While the position is primarily focused on talent acquisition, it also offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of people-related activities. This makes it an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about recruitment and enjoys contributing to other areas of HR.

The role can be based from any of our offices across Devon and Somerset, with hybrid working available. However, as you’ll be supporting all team members and recruiting for all offices, occasional travel between our offices will be required.

Why Westcotts?

At Westcotts, we know our people are our greatest strength. When you join our People Team, you’ll play an important role in helping us continue to attract and develop exceptional talent.

You’ll Benefit From

  • A varied and rewarding role combining recruitment and HR.
  • The opportunity to influence how we attract and engage talented people across the firm.
  • Hybrid working and flexibility to support work/life balance.
  • A friendly, stable, supportive, and collaborative People Team.

Main Duties

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from drafting adverts and sourcing candidates through to offers and onboarding.
  • Working closely with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs, provide advice, and deliver an excellent candidate experience.
  • Coordinating interviews, assessments, candidate communications, and recruitment administration, ensuring compliance with GDPR and employment legislation.
  • Building strong relationships with recruitment agencies, education providers, and external organisations to support attraction and recruitment initiatives.
  • Representing Westcotts at careers fairs, schools, colleges, universities, and recruitment events to promote career opportunities across the firm.
  • Managing and developing our Applicant Tracking System (IRIS HR Recruitment) and supporting managers in its effective use.
  • Supporting onboarding activities, including references, compliance checks, employment documentation, and tailored induction plans.
  • Assisting with a range of HR activities including employee lifecycle administration, leaver processes, disciplinary and grievance support, and maintaining HR documentation.
  • Producing recruitment and HR reports, analysing key metrics, and identifying opportunities to improve recruitment and people processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
