Director of Recruitment (Hybrid – London)

We are hiring for a hybrid role based in our London office (Covent Garden), reporting 3 days a week.
About the Role
As Director of Recruitment, you will lead our end-to-end talent acquisition strategy, focusing on high-growth roles across:
- Commercial functions (Sales, Account Management, Operations)
- Marketing & Product
- Corporate & Support teams
You will build our talent pipeline, forge strong relationships, and champion a principled approach to hiring, reducing reliance on agencies while optimising time-to-hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Hiring Leadership
- Lead recruitment for commercial, marketing, product, and corporate roles
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies across Europe, the US, and APAC
- Partner with hiring managers and regional leaders to align hiring goals with business needs

- Drive exceptional candidate experiences that align with Verve’s mission and values

Process & Efficiency Improvement
- Seek ways to reduce agency spend and streamline recruitment workflows
- Advocate for innovative, data-driven hiring practices across teams
- Maintain ATS accuracy and provide regular recruitment analytics to leadership
What We Look for

Industry & Hiring Expertise
- Proven success in niche recruitment, either in a recruitment agency or in-house role
- Strong background in sourcing, networking, interviewing, and offer negotiation at all levels
- Preferable/desirable: Experience in commercial/ads-driven environments or technical role placements
- Passion for challenging traditional recruitment models and trying new strategies

- Energetic, collaborative, and self-motivated—drawn to growth-stage mission driven companies
- Exceptional interpersonal skills—able to engage with all organizational levels, from executives to frontline staff
- Tenacity and resilience—playlist “The Recruiter’s Adventure” while handling unpredictable workloads

- Experience organising recruitment events, workshops, or meetups (a bonus!)
- Strong analytical mindset to track and improve process metrics
