Talent Acquisition Partner - Corporate Services (6 month FTC)
About us
Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for co-creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.
As the UK’s leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we’re supported by one of the country’s largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.
That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.
About the role
We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Talent Acquisition Partner to join our team on a 6-month FTC during a period of significant transformation and increased hiring activity across our Support Centre functions.
This is an exciting opportunity to partner with senior leaders, delivering exceptional hiring outcomes that strengthen capability and support strategic business priorities. You'll play a key role in driving a proactive, direct-sourcing approach, combining talent intelligence, market expertise and first-class stakeholder engagement to attract and secure high-calibre talent.
We're seeking someone with broad Corporate Services recruitment experience, with a strength in Finance recruitment, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance pace, agility and delivery with an outstanding candidate and hiring manager experience.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of specialist, professional and leadership vacancies across Corporate Services functions, delivering exceptional hiring outcomes focused on candidate quality and business impact.
- Lead proactive talent pooling, pipelining and headhunting activity to identify and engage high-calibre passive talent within competitive markets.
- Develop innovative sourcing strategies and targeted recruitment campaigns that strengthen talent pipelines and reduce reliance on external agencies.
- Create compelling advertising, attraction campaigns and employer branding content that enhances our visibility and appeal within professional talent markets.
- Use market mapping, competitor intelligence and talent insights to advise stakeholders on hiring trends, talent availability and attraction strategies.
- Drive a direct sourcing model, continuously identifying new ways to attract and engage diverse talent.
- Deliver a seamless candidate experience, ensuring timely communication, meaningful engagement and professional representation of our brand throughout the recruitment journey.
- Effectively manage recruitment activity through the ATS, maintaining accurate records, ensuring candidates receive timely outcomes, and supporting robust reporting and data integrity.
- Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders, managing expectations, influencing decision-making and ensuring transparency throughout the hiring process.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, driving efficiency while maintaining a high-quality experience for candidates and hiring managers.
- Champion inclusive hiring practices and ensure all recruitment activity is compliant with relevant legislation, governance and internal policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
