Opportunity: Talent Acquisition Specialist (Water Sector Focused)

Location: Hybrid working (3 days per week in the office) Areas: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Reading, Birmingham

As Stantec’s UK business continues to grow, the Talent Acquisition (TA) team plays a critical role in our expansion. To support our next stage of development within the Regulated Water Sector in Scotland, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team.

This is a high-visibility, impact-driven role where you will shape our recruitment strategy and become a trusted talent partner to the business, helping Stantec secure top-tier talent to support critical infrastructure projects across Scotland.


About the Role

This is a strategic, end-to-end recruitment role, where you will collaborate closely with hiring managers and stakeholders. Your responsibilities include:

  • Advising on best practices in recruitment.
  • Supporting hiring across multiple disciplines within the water sector.
  • Developing proactive sourcing strategies.
  • Building candidate pipelines and talent communities for future needs.
  • Delivering an exceptional, inclusive candidate experience.
  • Operating as a strategic business partner in a fast-paced environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

✔ Strategic Partnering: Guide business leaders on market trends, recruitment best practices, and talent planning.

✔ Proactive Sourcing: Design innovative direct sourcing strategies and collaborate with internal and external sourcing teams to build strong candidate networks for future framework requirements.

Requirements

  • A resilient, results-driven TA professional who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced recruitment environment.
  • Preferable blend of in-house and agency experience, with strong credibility in the Engineering, Construction, or Professional Services sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to scalesourcing efforts and build relationships at all levels (from stakeholders to candidates).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a passion for securing elite talent in a competitive market.
