Talent Acquisition Specialist
Talent Acquisition Specialist (6 Months FTC)
Locations: London, Glasgow, Derby, York, or Bristol
Working Arrangement: Office/Home Hybrid
Are you an experienced recruiter and passionate about sourcing exceptional talent in the infrastructure, transmission, and M&E sectors? This Talent Acquisition Specialist role offers you the opportunity to shape the future of our organisation while working collaboratively across a global engineering consultancy.
About the Role
Create solutions that will enable a better tomorrow. We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to bolster our recruitment efforts within key sectors, including infrastructure, transmission, M&E, and water engineering.
This forward-thinking role involves identifying top-tier candidates to meet evolving project demands while advising stakeholders on strategic workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to offering final employment contracts across engineering and speciality technical roles.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop a deep understanding of workforce needs, project timelines, and prioritisation.
- Design and deploy targeted recruitment strategies for high-demand engineering and delivery roles to rapidly close gaps.
- Source high-caliber candidates using a variety of channels, including LinkedIn outreach, job boards, professional networking, referrals and industry engagement.
- Conduct technical and motivational screening interviews to assess capability and cultural fit.
- Streamline interview coordination, offer processes, and onboarding to deliver a smooth candidate experience.
- Strengthen employer branding by promoting COWI’s reputation as leaders in engineering and infrastructure.
- Ensure all recruitment practices adhere to regulatory standards, including U.K. employment legislation and internal governance frameworks.
- Align recruitment activities with strategic business objectives, collaborating closely with HR, project managers, and operational leaders.

Who You Are

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in internal recruitment or talent acquisition, ideally within an engineering consultancy, infrastructure sector or technical industry.
- Expertise in managing full recruitment lifecycle for specialised technical and professional roles.
- A strong understanding of engineering disciplines (including water, transmission, and infrastructure) and technical recruitment terminology.
- Hands-on experience sourcing passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and direct outreach techniques.
- Proven stakeholder management skills—coordinating effectively with hiring managers at all levels.
- Ability to multitask efficiently, handling high-volume recruitment while maintaining clear organisational priorities.
- Proficiency in ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) and recruitment software.
- Exceptional English communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Self-motivated, with excellent time management and resource prioritisation.
