Talent Acquisition Specialist – Technical Recruitment

2 Year Fixed Term (Hybrid working in Birmingham - 1 day/week)

Salary: £52,000 - £56,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join a public sector organisation on a 2-year fixed-term contract.

About the Role

This role focuses on the end-to-end recruitment of specialist technical professionals across a diverse portfolio. You will:

  • Play a key role in delivering strategic hiring initiatives
  • Proactively scan the market for talent
  • Build sustainable recruitment pipelines
  • Partner closely with senior leadership teams to attract high-calibre candidates in a competitive market

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment across technical and specialist vacancies
  • Conduct proactive market mapping and talent identification activities
  • Build and maintain strong recruitment pipelines for hard-to-fill technical roles
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and hiring managers to support workforce planning and hiring strategy
  • Source and engage passive technical talent through multiple channels
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process
  • Ensure compliance with public sector policies and best practice

About You

  • Proven experience in Talent Acquisition or Recruitment, ideally within the public sector
  • Strong track record recruiting for technical roles such as engineering, aviation, pilot, or other specialist appointments
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Scan the market
    • Identify talent trends
    • Develop talent pipelines
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and influencing at SLT level
  • Experience managing multiple specialist vacancies in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of inclusive and compliant recruitment practices
  • CIPD qualification or working towards accreditation would be advantageous
