Talent & Performance Partner

About the Role

As a Talent & Performance Partner, reporting to the Head of Talent & Performance, you’ll work in close partnership with leaders, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and Learning & Development (L&D) colleagues to deliver NHG’s talent and performance approach.

You’ll support the design and delivery of performance, values, and talent processes that help leaders identify, develop and retain talent. This includes supporting:

  • Performance and values frameworks
  • Talent-review and succession activity
  • Leadership capability development across NHG

The role combines partnering, facilitation, and insights, empowering leaders to:

  • Apply clear, consistent performance expectations
  • Build confidence in performance conversations
  • Strengthen leadership capability, ensuring NHG has the talent and pipelines needed for the future.

How You’ll Make a Difference

You’ll drive NHG’s talent and performance culture by:

  • Partnering with leaders and people partners to embed consistent, values-aligned performance practices
  • Supporting effective talent-review and succession processes that identify potential and future capability needs
  • Empowering leaders to deliver confidence-building performance conversations and feedback
  • Facilitating leadership and management development activity to strengthen capability and behaviours
  • Leveraging talent and workforce insight to inform planning, prioritisation, and development decisions

Key Responsibilities

Your work will focus on delivering high-quality, aligned talent and performance activities across NHG. Key tasks include:

  • Partnering with leaders, HRBPs, and L&D colleagues to refine and implement performance, values, and talent frameworks
  • Supporting and coordinating talent-review and succession-planning processes
  • Guiding leaders in applying evidence-based approaches to assessing performance, potential, and behaviours
  • Designing and delivering leadership, management, and performance-focused sessions and interventions
  • Embedding NHG’s values into performance conversations and leadership development initiatives
  • Using talent, performance, and workforce insights to identify strengths, gaps, risks, and opportunities
  • Gathering feedback and insight to ensure continuous improvement of talent and performance activity
  • Collaborating closely with the People Development team to ensure underpinned by NHG’s values

You’ll ensure these activities align with organisational priorities while remaining practical, consistent, and effective.


About You

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in supporting or delivering talent, performance, or leadership development activity, preferably within a complex organisational context
  • Strong understanding of performance frameworks, values-based behaviours, and talent-review processes
  • Ability to work in partnership with leaders and HR teams to embed consistent people processes
  • Proficiency in interpreting talent, performance, or workforce insights to inform strategic decisions and development planning
  • Confident facilitation and communication skills, with expertise in engaging diverse stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management ability
  • Organised, proactive approach with strong multitasking and priority-management skills
  • Commitment to inclusive practice, delivering a positive colleague experience, and upholding NHG’s values

Additionally, having a CIPD qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential (or progressing towards it).
