Talent Development Lead - FTC

Talent Development Manager (Fixed Term Contract · 12 Months) – Great British Energy – Nuclear

Kanz is partnering with Great British Energy – Nuclear to build an inclusive and just employment ecosystem, prioritizing individuals from all backgrounds.

About the Role

A business-facing role focused on creating and delivering a talent development strategy for GBE-N, overseeing its implementation to cover:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Graduate schemes
  • Other innovative initiatives

This role involves:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to align training programs with business needs
  • Designing and evaluating training effectiveness for continuous improvement
  • Developing visible, exciting, and diverse career pathways to strengthen GBE-N as an employer of choice

Main Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight

  • Deliver and oversee the talent development strategy for GBE-N

Team & Learning Management

  • Manage a team to design and execute flexible learning interventions
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements

Performance & Development

  • Undertake performance improvement and knowledge transfer
  • Facilitate performance reviews and provide employee feedback
  • Identify high-potential employees and develop tailored development plans

Program Design & Delivery

  • Design and deliver diverse training initiatives, including:
    • Leadership development
    • Technical training
    • Soft skills development
  • Use a mix of instructional methods (e.g., classroom, e-learning, blended learning)

Evaluation & Improvement

  • Evaluate training program effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations
  • Address talent development challenges and propose innovative solutions
  • Measure and report on the impact of training on performance and business outcomes

Collaboration & Representation

  • Collaborate with HR, talent acquisition, and compensation functions for seamless employee experience
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., department heads, employees)
  • Represent GBE-N at industry conferences and events

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Comprehensive understanding of:
    • Adult learning principles
    • Instructional design methodologies
    • Performance management frameworks
  • Familiarity with diverse learning delivery methods (e.g., classroom, e-learning, blended learning)
  • Strong expertise in talent management, including:
    • Succession planning
    • Career development
    • Performance management
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and related technologies

Qualifications

A degree in Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
