About The Role

The Talent & Performance Specialist operates with an enterprise-wide remit across BT Group, shaping and delivering Talent & Performance solutions that support colleagues at every level of the organisation, from frontline operations through to senior leadership. Working within the Talent & Performance Hub, the role plays a critical part in ensuring BT has the talent, leadership capability and performance culture required to deliver its strategic ambitions.

Combining deep Talent & Performance expertise with Product Ownership responsibilities, the role partners with stakeholders across BT Group to translate strategic priorities into scalable, user-centred products, frameworks and experiences. Working alongside the Senior Manager, Talent & Performance (Product Lead), the role helps shape the evolution of BT's Talent & Performance portfolio, ensuring solutions deliver measurable value for colleagues, leaders and the business.

Acting as Product Owner for designated Talent & Performance products and initiatives, the role works closely with Design, Delivery and Technology teams to define requirements, prioritise opportunities and continuously improve outcomes.

Through evidence-based talent, succession, performance and career interventions, the role strengthens leadership pipelines, supports effective talent governance, builds future capability and enables a high-performance culture across BT Group.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Shape and deliver BT’s Talent & Performance products and frameworks, ensuring the organisation has the leadership capability, talent pipeline and performance culture needed for future success.
  • Support enterprise talent reviews, succession planning and career development, using data and insight to strengthen leadership pipelines and improve succession health.
  • Prepare and present talent insights, facilitate calibration discussions and contribute to consistent, well‑governed talent and succession decisions.
  • Use talent, performance and workforce data to identify risks and capability gaps, recommending targeted interventions and applying external best practice.
  • Act as Product Owner for designated Talent & Performance products, translating strategic priorities into clear roadmaps, requirements and delivery plans.
  • Partner with Design, Delivery and business stakeholders to shape, test and implement user‑centred, scalable solutions that evolve with colleague and business needs.
  • Build trusted relationships across BT, providing expert consulting support to leaders and People & Culture teams to ensure solutions meet diverse colleague needs.
  • Define and track success measures for Talent & Performance products, using data and feedback to evaluate impact and inform future priorities.
  • Embed Talent & Performance principles and processes to help managers and colleagues contribute to a high‑performance, growth‑focused culture.
  • Leverage data, AI and emerging technologies to enhance Talent & Performance products, improving decision‑making and colleague experience.
  • Use SAP SuccessFactors and other people systems to support high‑quality Talent & Performance processes, ensuring strong data governance and reporting.
