Talent and Resourcing Advisor
Full-Time, 6 Months FTC
Location: United Kingdom, Hybrid working (Knutsford, Preston, Aberdeen, Seething, or Glasgow)
About the Role
Join a dynamic, high-impact Talent and Resourcing team at James Fisher and Sons, where you’ll play a central role in shaping the organisation’s global hiring strategy. As a Talent and Resourcing Advisor, you’ll deliver a proactive, value-driven service that goes beyond traditional recruitment—partnering closely with the business to attract, engage, and retain top talent worldwide.
Due to a periods of heightened demand, we’re seeking additional support to drive our ambitious hiring agenda. This role involves taking ownership of the full talent lifecycle, from identifying and sourcing candidates to managing talent pipelines aligned with JFS goals and future growth. Thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, your expertise will shape hiring outcomes across diverse global markets.
Experience in in-house recruitment is highly valued, along with exposure to engineering and international hiring. This is an opportunity to make a real impact while working with a team dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Candidate Engagement
- Support end-to-end recruitment for both high-volume and specialist roles
- Partner with the Talent & Resourcing team to deliver a personalised recruitment service
- Collaborate with hiring managers and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to fully understand hiring needs

Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Development
- Create engaging job adverts and source candidates across multiple channels
- Conduct CV screening and selection processes
- Drive talent initiatives including:
- Market mapping
- Talent pooling
- Headhunting
- Succession planning
Stakeholder & Manager Support
- Coach and support hiring managers in building recruitment capability and interview skills
- Train managers on Talent & Resourcing processes
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and anticipate future talent needs
Supplier & Campaign Management
- Manage external supplier relationships, including Preferred Supplier Lists (PSLs)
- Develop innovative attraction campaigns to secure top talent
Key Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Proven in-house recruitment experience with global exposure (preferably in energy, defence, or maritime sectors)
- Strong familiarity with ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), job boards, CV databases, and talent pipeline management
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in IT tools
- Good understanding of GDPR and compliance regulations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
