Tank Lining Operative

Droitwich

Permanent, Full-Time

Competitive Salary (Up to GBP £34,221 per year)


About the Role

Operating nationwide in the UK & Ireland, this Tank Lining Operative role requires you to work as part of a 4–5 person team, alongside technicians, delivering projects for major oil companies and independent customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working in confined spaces to clean and reline above-ground or below-ground fuel tanks.
  • Preparing tanks by removing pipework and manhole covers.
  • Compliance with safety regulations, confined space protocols, and industry standards.
  • Root cause analysis and providing long-term solutions for customers.
  • Manual labour-intensive work with a focus on precision and efficiency.

** Core Duties & Responsibilities**

  • Collaborate to deliver fuel tank relining projects at petrol forecourt sites, adhering to company procedures and health & safety standards.
  • Conduct confined space entries, including permit completion, atmospheric monitoring, and adherence to risk assessments.
  • Carry out tank cleaning, degassing, and surface preparation (e.g., grit blasting).
  • Apply Adler & Allan’s patented relining system, using specialist resins and laminates.
  • Respond to reactive or emergency works and assist during critical call-outs.
  • Assume lead operative or supervisory responsibilities, including coordinating teams, attending site briefings, and representing the company.
  • Maintain professional communication with site representatives and customers, reporting progress and additional service requirements.
  • Ensure all tools, PPE, and vehicles are kept compliant, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Complete essential job documentation, including permits, reports, and work-related paperwork.
  • Foster a strong health & safety culture by reporting hazards, near misses, and incidents.
  • Suggest operational improvements and liaise with supervision on progress updates.

Requirements

About You:

  • Clean UK driving licence (categories required for operating company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes).
  • Experience around petrol forecourts (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Previous experience with RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements) documentation (advantageous).
  • Willingness to undertake additional training to enhance capabilities.
  • Legally permitted to work in the UK & Ireland.
