As a Tankered Waste Senior Technician, you'll play a key role in connecting operational, process and commercial activities, helping to turn strategy into action and supporting the wider objectives of the team. You'll work closely with a variety of stakeholders, using your expertise to drive improvements, solve challenges and deliver positive outcomes for the business.
You'll be trusted to ensure we meet our regulatory and compliance obligations, taking the lead on reviewing and improving processes to keep us operating safely, efficiently and in line with industry requirements.
Working alongside the Tankered Waste Team Manager, you'll also help support the day-to-day running of the team, promoting a strong health and safety culture, developing colleagues and helping to create an engaged, capable and high-performing workforce.

Your key accountabilities in this role will include:
- Be a key player in delivering the team's operational, process and commercial objectives, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the business to turn strategy into action and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion health, safety, environmental compliance and regulatory excellence by leading audits, supporting investigations, carrying out risk assessments and ensuring all waste approval, acceptance and discharge activities meet the highest standards.
- Support the day-to-day leadership of the team, deputising for the Team Manager when required, mentoring and developing colleagues, and helping to build an engaged, high-performing culture where everyone can thrive.
- Use your technical expertise to review and improve processes, embed best practice, maintain effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide specialist guidance on waste compliance across the wider business.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, regulators and partners, while supporting regulatory engagement and representing the team at meetings and assurance activities.
- Bring a commercial mindset to decision-making, helping to optimise performance, control costs and contribute to the development of operational, process and commercial strategies that support the future success of the business.

What You'll Bring
- Experience working within the waste industry, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and compliance requirements.
- A methodical and analytical approach, with excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, alongside a keen eye for detail and accurate record keeping.
- Experience working within quality management systems and collaborating with waste suppliers, contractors or transport and logistics providers.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, support and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and a passion for continuous improvement, coupled with the ability to identify opportunities, drive change and deliver results.
- A collaborative and supportive approach, with the confidence to coach others, share knowledge and contribute to a positive team culture.
