Children and Young People - Targeted Interventions Coordinator

Are you passionate about helping young people change their lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Targeted Intervention Coordinator with our Kirklees Young Persons' service.
Our Targeted Intervention Coordinators play an integral role within Change Grow Live, engaging young people in a range of interventions, using a young person-centred approach, to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to improve knowledge and awareness of the harms associated with smoking, vaping and alternative tobacco products, empowering them to make safe and informed choices and to prevent the uptake of these activities.

About the Role
- To lead and maintain the coordination of an effective Universal and Targeted CYP Smoking, vaping, and alternative tobacco use offer across Kirklees.
- To work alongside the Team Leader to identify partners and work together to develop localised pathways that ensure young people receive education around risks associated with smoking, vaping, and alternative tobacco use.
- To gather insight from CYP, parents and teachers in high smoking prevalence areas in Kirklees that will inform the development of interventions to reduce uptake of smoking and/or vaping.
- Expand and develop existing learning resources to offer structured universal, facilitated sessions and separately, an enhanced programme to support CYP deepen their knowledge, skills and behaviours relating to smoking, vaping, and use of alternative tobacco products.
- To develop and deliver universal and enhanced sessions to secondary schools across Kirklees.
- Support parents on how to engage in meaningful conversations with their children about the risk factors linked to smoking, vaping, and using alternative tobacco products, and risk-taking behaviours more generally.

About You
- Experience of working with young people under 18.
- Experience of delivering training in person or online.
- Excellent understanding of smoking & vaping and drug or alcohol issues including experience of working within a related field.
- Experience of developing group work programmes and/or facilitating groups
- Experience of delivering training programmes
- To ensure the promotion of meaningful Service user involvement within the Service area.
- To deliver programmes of ad-hoc training to professionals
- To support the coordination and development of the service’s social media activity
