About the Role
As HeliosX scales rapidly across new geographies and business lines, tax has never been more crucial to our growth. We're seeking a Tax Accountant to sit at the core of our Group Finance function—covering global tax compliance, supporting the Group Tax Manager, and ensuring seamless scalability in every market we enter. This hands-on role spans UK VAT, international direct tax, transfer pricing, R&D credits, and more.
What You’ll Be Doing

Compliance Coordination:
- Own and maintain the global tax compliance calendar, tracking submissions across jurisdictions and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.

External Advisor Management:
- Liaise as the primary point of contact with tax advisors, managing relationships, deadline tracking, and review readiness for the Group Tax Manager.

Submission & Review:
- Prepare and perform first-line reviews of direct (e.g., corporation tax) and indirect (e.g., VAT) tax filings in the UK and globally, upholding rigorous standards.

Financial Coordination:
- Collaborate with external advisors and Finance teams on corporate tax provisions, annual accounts, and audit cycles.

Tax Accounting:
- Prepare monthly tax entries and ensure timely, accurate posting into Group financial systems.

Transfer Pricing & Structuring:
- Review intercompany recharges, ensuring compliance with group-wide transfer pricing methodologies.

International Expansion Support:
- Assist in tax registrations, filings, and compliance for new markets as HeliosX expands globally.

R&D & Tax Credits:
- Support R&D tax credit applications, working with technical teams to identify and document eligible activities.

Strategic & Advisory Contributions:
- Contribute to projects such as corporate structure optimisation, transfer pricing reviews, tax loss utilisation, M&A activities, and intercompany debt financing.
Who You Are
- Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a corporate tax environment or Big 4/tax practice.
- Essential: Prior experience in both corporation tax and indirect taxes (UK-focused).
- Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACCA Diploma in International Taxation etc.) or tax professional, with at least one year’s post-qualification financial accounting experience.
- Desirable: Familiarity with SageX3 (ERP system).

- Proficient with complex data analysis and Excel/Google Sheets (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.).
- Strong ability to manage compliance workflows, prioritise deliverables, and coordinate teams/external advisors.
