Tax Accountant | PE-backed | Warrington (Hybrid - 2 days in office) | £50-£60K
A PE-backed, high growth business is looking to appoint a technically strong Tax Specialist to take ownership of tax governance and compliance across the group.
This is a key role within the finance function, acting as the go-to expert on all tax matters while supporting a growing, fast-paced business through its next phase of expansion. Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in ensuring robust compliance, supporting statutory reporting, and driving process improvements across tax and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of corporate tax compliance, including preparation, review and submission of tax returns
- Management of indirect taxes including VAT, WHT, MGD, CCL and PSA filings
- Acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors on all tax-related matters
- Providing tax disclosures and inputs into statutory accounts and group reporting
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and wider financial reporting with tax insight
- Monitoring changes in tax legislation and assessing impact on the business
- Leading capital allowances processes and ensuring accurate treatment
- Managing relationships with external advisors, HMRC and relevant authorities
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and system efficiency
- Supporting automation and continuous improvement across tax reporting

- Qualified CTA or ACA/ACCA Qualified and CTA studier
- Strong technical grounding across corporate tax and capital allowances is highly desirable
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, multi-entity or PE-backed environment or with clients in this space is desirable
- Confident working autonomously and managing multiple deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly
