Tax Accountant

Hybrid Working | Excellent Career Development | £55,000-£60,000 + Excellent Benefits

We're partnering with a growing, forward-thinking firm that is looking to appoint a knowledgeable Tax Accountant to support a varied portfolio of SME and startup clients.

This position is ideal for a Tax Accountant with a strong background in UK taxation who enjoys building client relationships and delivering practical, commercial advice. While tax will be your primary focus, you'll also have the opportunity to support wider business advisory matters, making this a diverse and rewarding role.

This role is being recruited immediately, so candidates who are available immediately or on short notice will be prioritised.

What You'll Be Doing

As the tax specialist within the team, you'll work alongside colleagues to provide expert guidance that helps businesses remain compliant while making informed financial decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist advice on UK corporation tax, VAT and personal tax matters for owner-managed businesses.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns and calculations, ensuring all work is accurate and compliant with current legislation.
  • Identifying opportunities for clients to improve tax efficiency through effective planning and available reliefs.
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for tax-related queries and providing clear, practical solutions.
  • Supporting startup and small business clients with wider financial and operational guidance, including advice on business structures and accounting processes.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in UK tax legislation and sharing relevant updates with clients and colleagues.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider accountancy team to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Assisting new clients in selecting the most appropriate tax and business structure from the outset.
  • Helping to develop internal resources and best practice guidance to maintain a consistent, high-quality advisory service.
  • Contributing ideas to enhance internal processes and improve the overall client journey.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
