Tax Accountant
Financial Accounting Tax Specialist – New Role

Your New Role
This is a new role designed to strengthen the Financial Accounting team from a tax perspective, working to ensure high-quality financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on tax affairs, including:
- Preparation of tax returns (VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax, Gift Aid, and Employment Taxes)
- Implementation of tax planning opportunities
- Manage relationships with internal/external advisors and tax authorities as required
- Support the Group with ad-hoc tax and technical accounting queries

What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential Requirements
- Full CCAB or CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in core tax areas (VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax) and ability to interpret legislative changes
- Strong financial accounting experience (public, not-for-profit, industry, or professional practice)
- In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements
- Exceptional communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly
- Proficiency in ** Microsoft Excel** (advanced level)
- Experience with reconciliations and month-end close activities
Desirable Experience
- Preparation of group or consolidated accounts
- Prior exposure to public/not-for-profit sectors (housing, local/central government, public services)
- Experience assisting external audit processes
