Tax Accounting Manager - US GAAP
Senior Tax Accounting Manager – London-Based Finance & Tax Role
Client: Leading international real estate and infrastructure business
This is a high-profile position at the intersection of tax accounting and financial reporting, providing alignment with senior stakeholders and deep exposure to multi-jurisdictional requirements.
About the Role
As a Senior Tax Accounting Manager, you will:
- Drive the tax accounting and reporting processes for a complex international group.
- Work closely with financial reporting teams, local finance teams, external advisors, and auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Support multiple accounting frameworks (IFRS, US GAAP, FRS 102).
Key Responsibilities

Tax Provision Leadership
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and FRS 102.

Tax Calculations & Analysis
- Prepare and review current and deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate reconciliations, and analytical supporting statements.
- Manage deferred tax positions, including:
- Identification and tracking of temporary differences
- Assessment of deferred tax assets and liabilities recoverability

Technical Expertise & Guidance
- Act as SME on tax accounting differences between IFRS, US GAAP, and FRS 102.
- Provide technical guidance to finance and reporting teams on compliance matters.

Balance Sheet & Reconciliation
- Prepare and review tax basis balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyse key drivers of permanent and temporary book-tax differences.

Tax Disclosures & Compliance
- Support group reporting and consolidation, including:
- Tax-related adjustments
- Alignment entries
- GAAP bridge analyses

- Partner with external auditors and advisors on:
- Tax accounting matters
- Technical positions & disclosure compliance

Requirements

Qualifications:
- Chartered accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CTA/CPA or equivalent).
- Extensive tax accounting experience in practice or large multinationals.

Key Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of deferred tax accounting, tax provisions, and effective tax rate analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of multi-jurisdictional tax reporting.
- Preference: Experience with IFRS and US GAAP; REIT/real estate sector exposure advantageous but not essential.

- Based in Central London with a full-time office-based model.
