Fixed Term Maternity Cover Role

As a Tax and Treasury Accountant, you will play a pivotal role managing the tax and treasury operations for the University. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director - Financial Planning, Reporting and Business Partnering, you will work closely with key stakeholders across the University to prepare statutory returns, internal reporting, and advise on the tax and treasury implications of the university’s future plans.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and co-ordinate the University treasury function and associated processes, modelling and reporting.
- Lead and co-ordinate the day-to-day tax processes and preparation of the university’s VAT and Corporation tax returns and advise on tax matters across the university.
- Manage the university’s PCI compliance environment.
- Lead on continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the university has an efficient and compliant tax function.
About You
We are seeking an ambitious and accomplished Tax and Treasury Accountant with a passion for collaboration and strategic impact. You will bring:
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) and experience of tax and treasury accounting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building successful stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent IT skills - particularly Excel and some experience of Power BI and handling large data sets.

The interviews are scheduled to take place at our Frenchay Campus on 19th August.
This is a full-time post which is fixed term until 31 August 2027 or the return of the post-holder working 37 hours per week.

This role is therefore campus based for at least 3 days per week, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
