The Opportunity
You’ll play a core role in shaping VAT compliance strategies, blending precision with proactiveness. Key responsibilities include:
Core Responsibilities
- Supporting UK and overseas VAT return preparation using data provided by clients
- Processing, validating transactional data via Excel and internal systems
- Conducting data collection, reconciliation, and basic sense-checking for compliance
- Uploading information to tax authority portals and maintaining internal records
- Managing clear, accurate filings aligned with internal procedures
- Meeting deadlines and escalating issues as needed
- Collaborating with senior team members to follow compliance standards
- Aiding communication with tax authorities (including HMRC)—telephone calls, submissions, and tracking responses

What We’re Looking For
You’ll thrive here if you enjoy structured tasks with regular interaction. Ideal candidates exhibit:
- Technical aptitude: Handling repetitive data tasks with high precision—the attention to detail matters!
- Organisational mindset: Managing multiple tasks with deadlines
- Collaborative nature: Clear, professional communication, especially with senior stakeholders
- Commitment to growth: Eager to develop expertise in VAT compliance and team relationships
- Enthusiasm to contribute: Whether in Gatwick or our broader network, fostering team cohesion
Experience & Helpful Skills (None Mandatory)
- An interest in tax, VAT, or accounting (other sectors’ newcomers encouraged)
- Excel basics: Formulas, data filtering, reconciliation
- IT proficiency: Operating structured data repositories or internal systems
- Administrative/experience: Office environments or similar data-focused roles
