A global organisation is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Tax Consultant to support a major transformation programme. This role will suit someone who can operate as a hands-on functional SME across tax configuration, compliance, and process design, with strong stakeholder management across business and IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead/own SAP tax workstream activities across SAP S/4HANA (design, configuration support, testing, defect resolution, deployment/hypercare as required).
- Provide SME input on indirect tax processes and controls (e.g., VAT/GST, withholding tax, taxes on sales & purchases).
- Support requirements gathering, blueprinting, fit-gap, functional specifications, and end-to-end testing (SIT/UAT).
- Work closely with global finance teams and system integrators to ensure compliant and scalable solutions.

Essential (non-negotiable) Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering SAP S/4HANA finance/tax solutions.
- Strong tax functional knowledge, especially indirect tax (VAT/GST, WHT, sales/purchase tax).
- Experience in heavily regulated product environments; Tobacco or Beverage/FMCG background is highly desirable.

Highly Desirable ("nice to have")
- Prior experience supporting programmes for a large global consumer goods organisation (Tobacco background particularly valuable).
- Exposure to IBM-led programmes (including TaO experience) and/or previous engagement with BAT-type environments.
- Knowledge of Deloitte ITL.
- Experience with SAP Excise Duty Management (or equivalent excise duty solutions) is a strong advantage.
