Tax Consultant
Location: Cabot Square, London
Contract: initially till December 2026 (with extension till June 2027)
Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days in the office

Who You Will Work With
Our client is a global financial services firm that manages wealth, navigates complex markets, and design strategic financial objectives. The firm provides risk management solutions across a variety of sectors, emphasizing long-term relationships, and innovative approaches to financial challenges.
What You'll Do
- Attend VAT return review meetings; analyse and challenge the data presented to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Liaise with local legal entity controllers and the Budapest VAT compliance team to respond to tax authority audit requests promptly and with full supporting information.
- Coordinate with external advisors across jurisdictions to obtain robust VAT advice while managing costs and staying within budget.
- Review commodities invoices for VAT compliance and work with the Technology team on projects to improve the commodities billing system.
- Provide ad hoc VAT advisory support to the Indirect Tax team, Finance and Business Units as required.
- Act as first point of contact for the Budapest team, handling queries and reviewing reverse charge determinations and other VAT rulings they require.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Indirect Tax procedures and controls.
- Assist with new VAT registrations, and process subsequent amendments and deregistrations.

What You Bring
- Proven experience in indirect tax and VAT is essential, including tax compliance and advisory
- Prior experience in Financial Services or Banking is essential, or equivalent experience gained at Big Four firms
- Experience reviewing commodities invoices is desirable
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
