Tax Director – Tax Advisory – London

Our work in the tax advisory space spans:

  • Supporting new jurisdiction entries
  • Developing fund structures and business extensions
  • Structuring carry and co-investments
  • Facilitating business reorganisations
  • Tax audits, mergers/acquisitions analysis (pre & post), refinancing, and capital repatriation
  • Addressing global fiscal impacts such as BEPS Pillar 2 and interest deductibility challenges

We operate as a hybrid team, meeting two nights a week at the office or at client sites, ensuring collaboration while offering flexibility in daily work allocation.

The Role

We're seeking a Tax Director to lead a team of tax experts, specialising in UK Corporation Tax and international tax projects across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as market-facing sales leader, developing relationships with target clients and organisations
  • Conduct high-level stakeholder management with senior clients, introducing relevant KPMG specialists when needed
  • Set the benchmark for client relationships, technical excellence, service delivery and commercial focus
  • Expand team visibility within KPMG networks to increase referral opportunities
  • Lead new business proposal design & delivery, capitalising on identified opportunities
  • Mentor/train junior team members while driving their professional development
  • Identify cross-team synergies, proposing introductions to strategic advantages for both clients and KPMG

Our Requirements

  • Qualification: Fully-licensed Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) or equivalent (e.g. ACA/CA)
  • Proven success in origination of new international tax business, both internally and externally
  • Exceptional commercial acumen with demonstrated track record
  • Strong technical skills aligned with KPMG’s targeted markets
  • High drive and enthusiasm, maintaining a positive team culture
  • Natural leader capable of inspiring teams
  • Collaborative & inclusive approach with stakeholders, clients, and employees
  • Strategic problem-solving through applied knowledge and industry insights
  • Clear, authentic, consistent communication (both verbal and written)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
