Tax Disputes Manager - South West

A leading Top 15 accountancy firm is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Disputes Manager to join its growing specialist tax team in the South West. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional looking to work on a broad range of HMRC enquiries, investigations and dispute resolution matters, supporting a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of tax disputes from start to finish, working closely with partners and clients to achieve the best possible outcomes. The role offers exposure to complex and high-value matters while also providing the opportunity to help develop junior team members. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing HMRC enquiries, investigations and disclosures.
  • Advising clients on dispute resolution strategies.
  • Handling COP8, COP9 and other complex HMRC matters.
  • Liaising directly with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Supporting partners with technical advisory work and business development.
  • Mentoring and developing junior members of the team.

About You

  • CTA, ACA, ACCA or ATT qualified (or qualified by experience).
  • Previous experience in tax disputes, investigations or HMRC enquiry work.
  • Strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
  • Commercially minded with a client-focused approach.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and build strong client relationships.
