About the Role MARI is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Global Indirect Tax Manager to lead and oversee its global indirect tax function. This role requires both a proactive mindset and a practical, hands-on approach. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business unit leaders across EMEA, APAC, and North America to manage and provide strategic guidance on indirect tax operations. Salary Salary is determined by market data, experience, location, and internal banding. Ranges will be discussed transparently during the interview process.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Oversee global indirect tax strategies for multiple lines of business, providing guidance and direction to business partners
  • Identify indirect tax risks and develop mitigation solutions
  • Oversight of the preparation and submission of accurate and timely direct tax returns, including VAT/GST, sales tax, 1099 & 1042 reporting and other relevant indirect and informational taxes across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess their impact on the company, and provide clear direction to business leads. 
  • Oversee and support indirect tax audits
  • Support business teams with day-to-day questions relating to indirect tax
  • Review business contracts and provide guidance and recommendations on indirect tax related risks
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance and operations teams, to provide indirect tax-related guidance and support. 
  • Liaise with tax advisors in other jurisdictions as necessary. 
  • Support technology initiatives (e.g. SAPS4/HANA, tax technology, automation/AI) 
  • Develop and provide indirect tax training sessions for relevant staff. 
  • Some travel may be expected.

What You Bring

  • 7-10 years of experience in indirect tax across multiple jurisdictions in EMEA, APAC, & US 

  • Strong indirect tax research skills, with the ability to apply practical, real world scenarios and business decisions

  • Proactive self-starter with attention to detail, high level of integrity and organizational skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex indirect tax issues and collaborate effectively within diverse teams

  • Strong international  VAT/GST experience with a solid US sales & use understanding 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Preference for candidates with experience in multinational corporations or top-tier global advisory firms.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 

  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
