An exciting opportunity to join a market-leading Tax Disputes team

A leading international law firm is looking to hire a talented Tax Litigation Lawyer to join its highly regarded Tax Disputes practice in London. This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the most respected lawyers in the market, advising major corporates, financial institutions, and high-profile individuals on complex and often high-value tax disputes. The team sits at the forefront of tax controversy, handling some of the most challenging matters involving HMRC investigations, tax litigation, and cross-border disputes. The role offers exposure to sophisticated, commercially significant work within a supportive and collaborative global environment.

  • Managing contentious tax matters from early-stage investigations through to litigation and resolution
  • Advising on HMRC enquiries, investigations, assessments, and challenges
  • Preparing strategic advice, legal opinions, submissions, and court documents
  • Representing clients in tax litigation proceedings before UK courts and tribunals
  • Supporting international tax controversy matters alongside colleagues across global offices
  • Working closely with lawyers across tax, disputes, corporate, finance, and regulatory teams
  • Building trusted client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with strong experience in tax disputes, tax litigation, or contentious tax advisory work. You will ideally have:

  • Experience managing complex tax controversy matters
  • A strong understanding of UK tax law and dispute resolution procedures
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • The ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and commercially
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to work directly with sophisticated clients
  • A genuine interest in developing your career within a leading international practice
