What You’ll Do

Finance Operations delivers services to the Finance organisation and businesses for all Vodafone IoT (Internet of Things) entities. It is accountable for the delivery of all financial actuals and secure margin and value across all IoT territories globally, with current focus on the UK, US, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

This role has operational accountability to implement effective strategies to optimise the tax positions that align with overall business objectives. With the support of internal and external teams, ensure Transfer Pricing, Direct Tax, Withholding Tax and Indirect Tax compliance and reporting in all IoT jurisdictions. Manage internal, external and Tax Authority audits as needed. Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Provide innovative, efficient and tax effective advice for the Vodafone IoT Group and each entity to minimise the impact of unexpected tax costs on the operations and financial position of the business.

What you'll do

  • As part of a team, manage tax compliance matters for several Vodafone IoT tax registrations across an international footprint, to minimize tax risks
  • Foster effective relationships with key stakeholders including outsourced providers, finance operations, shared service teams and overseas Tax Authorities
  • Ensure performance management and operational excellence with Vodafone shared services
  • Support tax reporting submissions as part of Vodafone Group forecasts and statutory reporting processes. Maintain robust controls over tax numbers posted in financial systems and disclosed in statutory accounts
  • Responsible for the overall Transfer Pricing documentation and intercompany processes across all Vodafone IoT entities, conducting regular reviews and updating documentation accordingly. Stay up to date with the Transfer Pricing adjustments across all locations to ensure the correct and timely implementation of intercompany charges
  • Business partner to provide comprehensive tax advice to the business on contracting models or new product offerings
  • Ensure all transactions have been fully analysed from a direct and indirect tax perspective while monitoring risks and mitigations for business challenges
  • Identify potential tax planning opportunities or improvements in ways of working to maximise efficiencies within the legislative framework

Who You Are

  • 5+ years’ tax experience gained in a complex and dynamic operating environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to ensure a transparent representation of the results, processes and procedures and to influence multiple stakeholders
  • Strong international tax experience and an analytical mindset to achieve team goals
  • Familiarity with accounting systems including SAP and Longview
  • High degree of personal responsibility, solution-oriented, ‘Can Do’ mindset
