Tax Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Aramark's Tax team as Tax Manager. Based in Leeds, this role offers significant exposure across UK and international tax matters within a large multinational group, supporting tax compliance, reporting, governance and strategic projects. Working directly with the European Tax Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing the Group's UK tax affairs while supporting tax matters across Europe.

The successful candidate will join an established UK & Ireland tax team of four and will be responsible for managing the Group's UK corporation tax compliance obligations, overseeing international tax compliance through external advisers, and supporting a broad range of tax advisory and governance activities. The role provides excellent exposure to senior stakeholders across the business and offers significant opportunity to broaden experience across UK and European tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • UK corporation tax compliance and reporting
    • Preparation and review of UK corporation tax computations and returns.
    • Quarterly US GAAP tax reporting.
    • Tax accounting for UK statutory accounts.
    • Forecasting and quarterly instalment payment calculations.
  • International tax management
    • Coordination of non-UK corporation tax compliance through external advisers.
    • Management of adviser relationships and compliance deadlines.
  • Tax governance
    • Support and enhancement of the group's tax control framework.
    • Lead activities relating to Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) and Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO) compliance.
  • Advisory and other areas of tax
    • Support M&A, restructuring and commercial projects.
    • Monitor legislative developments and communicate the impact of tax changes to relevant stakeholders.
    • Reviewing non-CT related filings including CIS and PSA.
    • Support with VAT compliance and projects as required.
  • People management
    • Directly support, coach and develop the Tax Assistant.

You’ll be set up for success if you are:

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Significant experience in UK corporation tax gained either in practice or industry.
  • Experience of tax reporting and/or managing external advisers.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge with the ability to apply practical commercial judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with finance teams, advisers and non-tax stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and financial/tax reporting systems.
  • Experience of VAT, employment taxes or international tax matters would be advantageous, but is not essential.
