Tax Compliance & Transfer Pricing Specialist
Finance Operations – IoT Division
Location: Global focus (primarily UK, US, Germany, Italy, Spain & Portugal)

As a Tax Compliance & Transfer Pricing Specialist in Finance Operations, you’ll support our international IoT family across six key markets. This operationally critical role ensures financial integrity, secures margins, and drives tax compliance and strategy—directly impacting Vodafone IoT’s growth and business stability.
The focus:
- Leverage your global tax expertise to optimise Vodafone IoT’s tax position and minimise risks in high-growth markets.
- Drive tax efficiency while aligning with legal and business objectives, ensuring transparency and sustainability.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration—between teams, external advisors, and regulators—to navigate audits, tax submissions, and financial reporting for aligning agreements across legal entities.
- Future-Proof Vodafone IoT with proactive tax, regulatory, and financial strategy, supporting our digital transformation and global expansion.
Your Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Risk Management
- Scrutinise & monitor international tax registrations across Vodafone IoT’s footprint to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance.
- Monitor and manage internal, regulatory, and external audits—coordinating responses and impacts across jurisdictions.
- Identify tax risks in new or existing transactions, ensuring full analysis of direct and indirect tax implications for operational decisions.

Transfer Pricing & Intercompany Alignment
- Own transfer pricing documentation policy across all IoT entities—ensuring alignment with OECD guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Update and review intercompany pricing documentation at least annually while incorporating operational guidance & BEPS requirements.
- Align intercompany agreements with the economic substance of transactions, ensuring correct intercompany charges and risk-sharing responsibility among entities.
- Work with senior tax leaders and business stakeholders to arrange transfer pricing nexus risk assessment of current mechanisms and intermediaries.

Tax Reporting & Emerging Trends
- Prepare tax-related reporting submissions for Vodafone Group forecasts and statutory filings (e.g., BEPS reports, DOTS, aged invoice lists).
- Ensure integrated controls over tax numbers posted in Vodafone’s SAP system & verified against Group standards.
- Monitor global tax, regulatory & legislative changes, keeping the IoT finance team up-to-date to advise internal stakeholders.

Proactive Tax Advisory & Collaboration
- Provide advice on tax implications of Vodafone IoT’s new solutions, product models, and group restructures (e.g., better contracts, grant applications, compliance with tax treaties).
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and finance teams to structure transactions (e.g., licensing, higher-tax business management).
- Optimise cross-entity working methods & systems to enhance efficiency—including with external tax advisory & IT resources.

Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain open, strategic relationships with tax authorities, regional national tax bodies (including customs), and outsourced tax service providers.
- Lead the IoT tax learning account within Vodafone’s internal systems, ensuring clear intercompany capabilities.

Essential Experience
- 5+ years of tax experience within a multinational company, particularly in IoT, telecommunications, or tech (or a highly relevant sector like finance services, consumer goods, logistics, etc.).
- Ability to drive compliance & multijurisdiction frameworks for New Business Development and existing businesses through audits & Group evaluation.
- International insight: Experience working with diverse tax systems (minimum 2 pre- USPAP) pa tax-filing requirements.
- Operational & compliance-focused: Adept at bolt-on audits, accounts/payments reconciliation, transfer pricing dispute and audit processes.
- Technical expertise: Familiarity with SAP Longview, ERP systems, and global legislation around BT Exemption, VAT (ITER, MC & outlier), GST, cross-border rules, and Eco-Matters compliance/CEA registration.

Corporate Travel & Skill Set
- Travel may be required (around 50% global business), including year-end, APV, RTO work, regulatory updates, or urgent compliance issues.
- Key strengths: Problem-solving, financial awareness, transfer pricing, intercompany contract negotiation, modular revenue investments, company structuring.
