Purpose of the role

This role will play a critical part in supporting the tax affairs of IAG Loyalty (including BA Holidays), a growing part of the Group. In addition to corporation tax, the role offers exposure to indirect taxes, while also playing a meaningful role in the operation and continuous improvement of the Group’s tax control framework.

The IAG Group Tax team provides tax compliance and advisory services across the group. It is a relatively small group of high-performing individuals working as a team, each an expert in their own field, focused on driving results and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The UK based team works closely with a team based in Poland, a tax team based in Spain and a tax manager in Ireland. The team is led by a Group Tax Director, based in the UK.

Accountabilities

  • Preparation and submission of corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Ensuring timely submission of quarterly instalment payments.
  • Supporting quarterly and year-end reporting processes, including current and deferred tax calculations.
  • Providing tax advice on new initiatives and commercial arrangements.
  • Playing an active role in the design, maintenance and operation of the Group’s tax governance and controls framework, including documentation, monitoring, testing and, where required, remediation of key tax controls.
  • Supporting transfer pricing, intra-group arrangements and wider international tax matters.
  • Developing technical knowledge of indirect taxes (including VAT) and contributing actively to indirect tax matters as part of the role, working closely with the IAG Loyalty Tax Manager and the wider Group Tax and operational finance teams.
  • Assisting with indirect tax compliance activities, including supporting the preparation and review of VAT returns and related submissions, and helping to address indirect tax queries and issues.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keep the IAG Loyalty Tax Manager regularly informed of all tax matters, ensuring visibility and alignment across the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
