Tax Manager
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established international consumer-focused organisation with a strong brand presence and a collaborative, values-led culture. Operating across multiple markets, the business maintains high standards of governance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
This opportunity is particularly suited to a Tax Manager currently working within accountancy practice who is looking to make their first move into industry and broaden their commercial impact within an in-house tax function.
The Role
The Tax Manager will take ownership of the UK domestic tax function, ensuring robust compliance and governance while acting as a strategic adviser to senior stakeholders.
External advisers will undertake the detailed compliance preparation work, with the Tax Manager responsible for oversight, review, coordination, and providing commercial tax input.
This role offers an excellent transition from a practice environment into a broader, commercially focused in-house position, with significant exposure to business decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and UK domestic tax matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
