Role: Tax Manager

Location: Northampton or Manchester
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience
Reporting to: Associate Director

About the Role

We're looking for a Tax Manager to join our team in Northampton or Manchester. This is a role for someone who wants genuine breadth — not just R&D, but the full compliance picture for our accounts clients too. You'll review claims to make sure they're fully maximised, oversee corporation and personal tax compliance, and be the technical point of contact clients trust.

In This Role You’ll

  • Review tax computations to ensure R&D claims have been fully maximised
  • Liaise with clients on technical queries as their trusted point of contact
  • Manage corporate tax and personal tax compliance for our accounts clients
  • Prepare personal and corporation tax returns
  • Handle pre-notification submissions and additional information form submissions
  • Oversee CT600 submissions

What We're Looking For

  • CTA qualified (ATT qualified will also be considered)
  • Experience at Manager level in a tax practice
  • Experience in R&D tax is desirable
  • Strong technical grounding across corporate and personal tax compliance, ideally with R&D exposure
  • Excellent attention to detail — accuracy and quality are non-negotiable
  • Confident managing a varied portfolio and dealing directly with clients
  • Well organised, with the ability to juggle competing deadlines
