Tax Manager

Tax Manager – VAT & Indirect Tax (International)

At Fanatics Commerce, we’re more than just a leader in licensed sports merchandise – we’re a team united by a relentless passion for fans and a commitment to innovation. We live by our BOLD Leadership principles: We Build Championship Teams, we’re Obsessed with Fans, we embrace a Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit, and we approach every challenge with a Determined and Relentless Mindset. Role Overview

This is a hands-on tax role sitting within a small, high-performing Tax & Treasury team at the centre of Fanatics International’s finance function. Reporting directly to the Head of Tax & Treasury, the Tax Manager will take primary ownership of the Group’s monthly VAT compliance cycle across multiple jurisdictions, while also supporting wider tax compliance, ad hoc technical queries, and business partnering across the international business.

Key Responsibilities

VAT & Indirect Tax Compliance – Primary Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end monthly VAT compliance process across UK and international entities, including:
    • Preparation, review, and submission of returns across 20+ registrations in the UK, EU, and other international markets
    • Maintaining and reconciling VAT ledger positions with clear audit trails and evidence
    • Managing relationships with third-party compliance agents to ensure accurate, on-time filings
    • Preparing VAT payment schedules and communicating cash flow implications of liabilities and reclaims to Treasury
    • Maintaining the Group’s VAT registration portfolio, tracking deadlines, filing frequencies, and obligations across new markets
    • Assisting with VAT technical issues, including supply classification, supply chain movements, and cross-border place of supply questions
    • Managing VAT audits and tax authority correspondence, drafting responses and supporting schedules

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Ability to communicate tax issues clearly to non-expert stakeholders without excessive jargon
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, shifting-priorities environment—able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously without sacrificing quality
  • ACA, CTA, ATT qualification (or equivalent)
