Tax & Statutory Reporting Accountant
Are you a qualified accountant with strong financial reporting knowledge looking to develop specialist expertise across tax, statutory reporting and regulatory compliance?
Join TKMS ATLAS UK and become part of a collaborative Finance team supporting the delivery of our tax compliance, statutory reporting and governance obligations. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, this role offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your technical expertise while working closely with external advisers and internal stakeholders. You'll play an important role in ensuring the business remains compliant while helping drive improvements across reporting, controls and finance processes.
As a Tax & Statutory Reporting Accountant, you'll gain exposure across multiple areas of financial reporting, tax and governance, giving you the opportunity to build specialist knowledge while contributing to a growing and innovative defence business.
What you'll be doing
You'll support the delivery of tax compliance, statutory reporting and regulatory obligations across the business, including:
- Supporting corporation tax, VAT, PAYE and employment tax compliance activities.
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and Companies House filings.
- Supporting year-end audit activities and preparing audit documentation.
- Preparing technical accounting papers and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Supporting Gender Pay Gap and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Working alongside external tax advisers and responding to HMRC enquiries.
- Maintaining tax governance documentation, risk registers and internal controls.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation and continuous improvement.
- Providing tax and financial reporting support across Finance, HR and operational teams.

What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with strong technical accounting knowledge who enjoys solving problems and is keen to continue developing their expertise.
You'll ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be nearing qualification).
- Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting knowledge.
- Good understanding of UK accounting standards.
- Experience interpreting and applying accounting standards and technical guidance.
- Exposure to Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE or other tax compliance activities.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-finance stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies, including AI, to improve reporting and efficiency.

Desirable experience includes audit, financial reporting, practice, regulatory reporting or working alongside external auditors or tax advisers.
