Tax Technology Assistant Manager – AI & Automation (Birmingham or London | hybrid)

We're partnering with a top-10 firm to find a Tax Technology Assistant Manager for their in-house Tax Technology team — a genuinely exciting role helping drive AI and automation solutions across an entire national Tax business, with your "client" being the whole Tax team, nationwide.

Our client is a fast-growing firm with ambitions to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. Their Tax Technology team is small but growing, with exciting projects ahead — a rare chance to join early and help shape its direction as it scales.

About the Role

This high-visibility, national role sees you helping drive AI and automation solutions across the Tax business, delivering high-impact implementations and working closely with internal and external developers alongside the Tax Technology leadership team.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Owning implementations end-to-end: identifying opportunities, defining requirements, and delivering AI and automation solutions that transform Tax processes
  • Bridging business and technology: turning business needs into practical, high-value technology solutions
  • Driving change and results: taking ownership of projects and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and client service
  • Collaborating and influencing: engaging stakeholders across the Tax function, including running training sessions to upskill colleagues
  • Testing and refining: participating in functional and user testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in Tax Technology, either in an internal or client-facing role
  • Knowledge of tax compliance and advisory processes
  • A proactive, results-driven approach, with initiative to drive projects to measurable outcomes
  • Skill in translating business requirements into user stories, wireframes or workflows
  • Comfort using data analytics to identify opportunities, track KPIs and measure success
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams
