About The Role

Are you looking for a step up into a high-profile in-house tax technology environment? Or perhaps you are already working in-house and want to support a major digital corporate transformation?

We have a unique opportunity for a Tax Technology Manager to join our Group Tax Team at our corporate Head Office in Paddington. This is an incredible time to join us as DS Smith as this role will play an essential role in digitalising our tax function, reporting directly to the Senior Tax Technology Manager.

This role offers broad exposure to global functions and provides a platform to revolutionise our existing tax processes. You will be a key point of contact for digital initiatives, partnering with I&T, external vendors, and global finance teams to implement technology solutions that support our global tax strategy.

Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Digital Transformation: Support the delivery of strategic tax technology projects, including process automation, data analytics, and AI-driven solutions for the global tax function
  • Data & Analytics: Build and automate tax data pipelines using Alteryx and maintain PowerBI dashboards to produce audit-ready analytics for reporting and compliance
  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead the technology execution for complex global mandates such as Pillar 2, e-invoicing, and public Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR)
  • System Interrogation: Support financial data analysis across various global systems including SAP, HFM, and Longview to ensure data integrity and remediation at the source
  • Compliance Support: Standardize data handling and internal controls for global compliance cycles, ensuring robust audit trails and automated validation checks
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between Tax and I&T, providing training to the wider team on new platforms and maintaining relationships with technology partners

About You

  • Degree in Accounting, Data Systems, or Finance; a professional tax/accounting qualification (ACA/CTA) or analytics certification is highly beneficial
  • Strong knowledge of corporate tax processes (CBCR/Pillar 2) and familiarity with indirect tax reporting or e-invoicing mandates
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx and PowerBI; proficient in advanced Excel and familiar with tax reporting tools like Longview
  • Ability to bridge the gap between complex tax requirements and technical digital solutions for both internal teams and external vendors
  • A proactive self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple digital projects independently within a fast-paced, challenging environment

Location

This is a hybrid role, split between the London Paddington office (3 days) and home (2 days) – however flexibility will be required at times. There will be a small amount of travel to Caerphilly (Wales), Netherlands, and other locations as required.
