Tax Trainee / Assistant
Gradient Tax Trainee or Experienced Tax Assistant Opportunity

A highly respected independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors is looking to recruit either a:
- Graduate Tax Trainee or an
- Experienced Tax Assistant
to join its established and growing Tax team.

Unlike many trainee roles that specialise too early, you’ll receive broad experience across multiple tax disciplines while working alongside experienced tax specialists and Partners.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Working alongside experienced members of the Tax Team, you will:
- Prepare tax computations, returns, and supporting schedules across both Corporate and Personal Tax
- Assist with a wide range of tax compliance and advisory assignments
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and address day-to-day queries
- Build relationships with HMRC and collaborate with colleagues across the firm
- Support research projects and technical advisory work
- Develop your tax knowledge through structured training and hands-on experience
- Work closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners in a collaborative environment
- No two days are the same—ideal for someone who enjoys learning and problem-solving.
Requirements
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re either:
- A recent graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree in Accounting/Finance or Law-related subjects, or
- An existing Tax Assistant looking to broaden your experience and continue professional studies.

Note: Previous tax experience is not essential for graduates, though experience in an office, finance, or customer-facing role would be beneficial.
