All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and some also have profound and complex learning needs.
About The Role
We are applying a Teacher to support our exceptional students in their learning and development.
This is a rede秩 listing—the right candidate may be considered for a Teacher Leadership Role (TLR) subject to interview.
You will:
- Lead a dedicated class, designing and delivering personalised instruction
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and specialists
- Embed a love of learning while prioritising student wellbeing and independence
- Work flexibly within the ASC and EYFS curriculums

Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Leadership: Plan, assess, and adapt individualised lesson plans tailored to each student
- Progress Tracking: Accurately record and congrat changes in ability, communication, and independence
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with therapists, nurses, and carers to enhance development
- Positive Environment: Safeguard students’ emotional well-being yielding an enabling, constructive space
- Family Communication: Support partners at home while earning trust through open exchanges
- School Development: Engage in Continuous Professional Development (CPD), policy updates, and team events
- School Values: Uphold Shaftesbury’s mission of inclusion: dignity, belonging, and genuine achievement
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- ✅ Qualified Teacher (QTS) status – mandatory
- 🔹 SEN/EAL specialist qualification (Child Research, Award, or Masters-level training appreciated)
- 🔹 Experience of supporting young people with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) (desirable)
