About The Role
Leeds City College are seeking a teacher to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver animal management lessons to students, as part of their programme of study.
This role will be predominantly based at Temple Newsam, but there may occasionally be a requirement to work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. Whilst this role doesn’t include any practical delivery, the department is based in a working farm and historical estate—so the successful candidate should enjoy working with animals and be comfortable in a land-based working environment.
The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships, and Higher Education (HE). The department currently delivers courses from entry to level 6. While this role will predominantly involve working with Further Education (FE) students, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to engage with a variety of learners.
We envisage this role starting in September 2026. This is a permanent, full-time position.

- Create effective assessment activities, provide SMART learning targets, and offer developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to achieve
- Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement for successful learning outcomes
- Reflect on teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
- Join a friendly, supportive, hard-working team passionate about developing learners’ self-esteem, abilities, and progress

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
