Teacher Assistant-Math Intervention Group Aide

Teacher Assistant – Part-Time

Location: Boulton Elementary Reference #: 2026-739C Close Date: Open until filled

Summary

Under the supervision of the principal or another supervisor, the teacher assistant supports the teacher in managing and enriching classroom instruction. Assistance may include preparing materials, correcting and recording assignments, and other customised services to meet student and instructional needs.

Position Overview

  • Hours per day: 2.8
  • Hours per year: 174
  • Salary: $17.24/hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table for Grade 3)
  • Promotions: Minimum 5% salary increase upon promotion to another classification
  • Announcement: Open to all applicants until filled

Key Responsibilities

The teacher assistant provides multifaceted support, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation
  • Providing tutoring or remediation to students
  • Completing administrative tasks like grading and recording assignments
  • Supporting specialty programs (e.g. reading intervention, academic enrichment)
  • Acting as an additional instructing/guiding presence in the classroom

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Equivalent to 2.8 years (48 semester hours) of full-time education from a recognised post-secondary institution OR
  • An associate’s degree OR
  • Ability to pass the Utah State Office of Education-approved Para-Professional Test
