Trainee Teacher / Specialist Support Assistant

Location: Cranleigh, Surrey (Free daily transport provided from Guildford and Cranleigh)

Salary: GBP26,458 FTE (GBP23,000 per annum + regular pay rises)

Bonus: GBP1,000 Joining Bonus

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Part-time options available)

Hours: 36.75 hours per week, Term-Time Only (No weekends, no evenings)

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, and motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Teachers / Specialist Support Assistants.

In this role, you will work 1-to-1 with amazing children and young people with autism, helping them learn daily life skills, communication, and independence. You do not need any prior teaching or SEN experience. We will pay for all of your training, certificates, and even university-level qualifications while you earn a full salary.

What You Will Do Day-to-Day

  • Work 1-to-1 with a pupil in a small, friendly classroom setting.
  • Help deliver fun, interactive, and practical lessons tailored to your pupils' specific needs.
  • Support pupils with everyday life skills, including playground fun, lunchtimes, and community trips.
  • Assist with personal and intimate care routines where required, ensuring dignity and comfort for the pupil.
  • Work alongside a friendly team of experts who will support and guide you every single step of the way.

Who Can Apply? (Requirements)

Education

You don't need a background in education to be successful here. We hire for attitude and personality over experience. You are a perfect fit if you have:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a naturally caring nature.
  • The resilience and patience to support children who sometimes face high-pressure or challenging moments.
  • A minimum Grade C/4 GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and build a permanent career. (Any previous experience—whether personal, voluntary, or professional—in retail, hospitality, care, or customer service is a massive plus)
