Salary & Benefits
- £32,916 – £51,048 (MSP/UPS scale, depending on experience)
- Teacher’s pension applies

Chilton Bridge is an independent special school for pupils aged 6–19, nestled in a picturesque setting near Yeovil, Somerset.
About the Role
We are a growing school seeking to appoint Classroom Teachers to support our creative, individualised approach for students with barriers to learning, including social, emotional, mental health, and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) needs.
Our Enterprise Learning curriculum enables students to rebuild confidence, feel safe, and develop vital skills to thrive in the modern world. We are now looking for enthusiastic and dynamic teachers who are open to embracing this modern approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach students across both primary and secondary levels
- Design and deliver bespoke curriculum activities that meet individual student needs
- Build meaningful relationships with pupils and families to foster trust and engagement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative teaching practices
- Contribute to defining an engaging environment where students learn, grow, and enjoy

Requirements
- Recognition that every teacher’s passion—whether in primary, secondary, FE, or vocational specialisms—is valued
- A commitment to putting young people first and supporting meaningful aspirations
- A willingness to undergo safeguarding checks, including:
- Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance
- Employment references (especially with children or adults at risk)
- Online background searches
Note: Due to safeguarding obligations, this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Education & Experience
- Open to candidates from diverse backgrounds, including:
- Unqualified teachers with vocational experience
- NQTs (Newly Qualified Teachers)
- Primary, secondary, or further education (FE) teachers
- Experience and enthusiasm for learning-through-physical-activity and vocational skills are highly desirable
