About The Role
Harrogate College is recruiting for a Teacher to join the Health and Social Care department to deliver a variety of courses including: L2 NCFE Cache Certificate, L3 NCFE Cache Technical Extended Diploma and T-level qualifications.
This role is part time, 11.1 hours per week. The pro rata salary commences at £9,574 with progression to £10,773 per annum.
The health and social care department at Harrogate is leading the way across North Yorkshire region by offering the provision of an industry led qualification which specifically prepares the next generation of young people working in the sector.
We are a team of both industry and specialist academic teachers who ensure that each of our students is provided with an exceptional experience with outcomes to match.
What You Will Do
- Design and deliver innovative, industry-aligned lessons, effectively utilising digital and traditional learning resources.
- Implement robust assessment strategies to provide constructive feedback that drives student achievement and high-quality outcomes.
- Monitor learner progress through systematic target setting and data-driven tracking to ensure consistent development.
- Cultivate a creative and inspiring environment that motivates learners to exceed their goals and refine their professional skills.
- Maintain current subject expertise, proactively integrating contemporary industry trends and evidence-based pedagogical practices.
- Uphold academic quality by participating in internal verification, moderation, and continuous improvement processes.
- Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum design to successfully meet the diverse needs of all learners.
- Support departmental growth through active involvement in course promotion, student recruitment, and induction initiatives.
About You
- An excellent communicator, confident in building engaging learning relationships that motivate students to achieve their full potential.
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of employers and work placement teams to advocate for student progress.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the professional roles within Early Years and Teaching Assistant sectors.
- A genuine passion for inspiring and motivating young people to become the next generation of the education and childcare workforce.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use your own initiative across various settings, including work placements, remote working, and college-based days.
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach to meet the diverse needs of different learners, ensuring an inclusive assessment experience.
- Proficient in using technology to upload, track, and record student progress accurately (e.g., e-portfolios).
- Strong administrative skills to ensure all marking and evidence meet the high standards required for NCFE and Pearson moderation.

We have recently been awarded £16m of government funding to transform our campus. The energy-efficient new building will include a workshop unit that provides large scale facilities aligned to industry needs including advanced manufacturing, low carbon construction, retrofit, sustainable energy and bioeconomy, health science and hospitality. This will complement the college’s existing tech centre which is home to its motor vehicle, electrical, joinery and welding workshops.
