Teacher in Engineering [WC4093

Teacher in Electronic Engineering Worthing College, part of the Chichester College Group Ref: WC4093 | Salary: £27,785 - £43,325 per annum

A role with potential eligibility for a targeted retention incentive payment of up to £6,000 (full details and eligibility criteria available on request).

About the Role

Worthing College is seeking passionate and experienced professionals in Electronic Engineering (or those looking to transition from industry to teaching). You’ll play a critical role in delivering impactful Electronic Engineering education to our diverse learner cohort.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, industry-relevant Electronic Engineering lessons at further education level (Levels 2–3 courses, such as Skills for Engineering Technicians).
  • Assess and provide feedback to learners, including setting maIDs and project-based evaluations.
  • Support student progression to higher-level studies, apprenticeships, or careers in engineering.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich curriculum delivery and promote student success.
  • Engage learners in theory and practical application, including lab work, diagnostics, and case studies.
  • Foster inclusivity, broadening participation for underrepresented groups (e.g., women in engineering, STEM apprenticeships).

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven expertise in Electronic Engineering (degree or equivalent industry experience) is essential; teaching experience is advantageous but not mandatory. The college offers:
    • Fully-funded Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (L5T) Apprenticeship for those new to teaching.
    • Alternative qualification routes for those with industry experience.
  • Strong technical teaching ability, whether through lectures, hands-on labs, or blended learning.
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable learners and safeguarding best practice.
  • Full DBS check (including overseas verification if applicable) and adherence to safeguarding regulations. Failing to declare any disqualifications is a criminal offence.
  • Flexibility to work across evening or non-standard hours (e.g., for apprenticeship or learner support).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
