Teacher Industry Exchange Coordinator

Teacher Industry Exchange Coordinator – Fixed Term Position

West Suffolk College Out Risbygate, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 3RL Salary: £29,556 - £30,585 per annum Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Contract: Fixed term until 31 July 2028, required as soon as possible Reference: 5240


About the Role

West Suffolk College is seeking a Teacher Industry Exchange Coordinator to lead the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of the government’s new initiative to strengthen collaboration between education and industry.

The role involves:

  • Developing and coordinating industry placements for teachers
  • Enabling them to gain current, sector-specific knowledge and real-world experience
  • Applying this directly to curriculum planning, teaching practice, and student career guidance

Key Responsibilities

This position requires close collaboration with:

  • Employers
  • Schools
  • Colleges
  • Training providers

The coordinator will:

  • Identify and develop placement opportunities
  • Broker partnerships
  • Manage programme logistics
  • Provide ongoing support to participants
  • Oversee recruitment, teacher-employer matching, and quality assurance
  • Monitor placement effectiveness
  • Gather impact evidence
  • Ensure programme targets are met
  • Share best practices across the network

The role demands a proactive individual capable of:

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Relevant teaching or industry experience preferred
  • Strong coordination, relationship-building, and stakeholder-engagement skills
