About the Role
Leeds City College seeks ****dynamic, self-motivated Motor Vehicle Teachers to join our growing team at the Printworks Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving automotive curriculum with a proven track record of learner success and achievement.
We’re looking for experienced automotive educators or skilled technicians considering a transition into teaching to deliver high-quality training across all modes of attendance from Level 1 to Level 3.
You will teach a diverse range of students, including:
- 16–18-year-old Study Programmes
- Adult learners (19+) on Study Programmes
- Apprenticeships
- School/Pathways Groups
Your core responsibility will be ensuring every learner gains essential skills for further study, employment, or completing their apprenticeship. A market supplement of £3,000 (dependent on experience) is available for this role.
What You Will Do
- Prepare and deliver inspirational Motor Vehicle Service and Repair lessons, including modern Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies.
- Contribute to high-standards teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Enthuse, motivate, and mentor young apprentices, fostering passion for the automotive industry.
- Maintain accurate learner records, including progress, attendance, and achievements.
- Demonstrate initiative, determination, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.

About You
To apply, you must meet these essential criteria:
- Hold a relevant Motor Vehicle qualification (or equivalent) OR at least 2 years of industry/trade experience.
- Hold a full teaching qualification (or be willing to work toward one with college support).
- Be digitally literate, confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for administrative tasks.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills to inspire and engage diverse learners.
- Be a strong team player with flexibility for evening administrative work.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with young people.
