Teacher of Biology / Science Teacher
Location: Newham, East London Status: Permanent, Full-Time Start Date: September 2026
An ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School, nestled in the core of Newham, East London, is inviting applications for a passionate and ambitious Teacher of Biology / Science Teacher—a full-time, permanent role.
About the Role
As the school continues to grow its Science Department, the Head Teacher seeks a committed educator committed to delivering impactful Biology and Science education. The school prides itself on:

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Biology/General Science lessons, aligned with the National Curriculum and supporting student progress
- Lead and develop departmental practices, with opportunities for curriculum refinement
- Collaborate with a skilled team of Science educators
- Support pastoral duties (where assigned)
- Be available to [stand them, mark work etc. – insert as relevant to your department]
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives, including CPD for colleagues
Person Specification: Must-Haves
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or legitimate process of gaining it)
- Excellent academic background (A Degrees + A Levels + high GCSEs)
- Demonstrated evidence of meeting the 8 Teaching Standards at ‘Good or Outstanding’
- Ability to work within a team while offering new, dynamic ideas
- Open to ongoing constructive feedback

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: MPS1–UPS3 (£39,571–£59,135 + TLR dependent on experience)
- Working Hours: Standard school timings with holiday pay
