Teacher of Biology / Science Teacher – Permanent, Full-Time (September 2026 Start)
About the Role
An ‘Outstanding’ Secondary School in Lambeth is seeking an ambitious and inspiring Teacher of Biology / Science Teacher for a permanent, full-time position starting September 2026.
The Head Teacher is looking for a specialist to elevate an expanding Science Department in a supportive environment, where the school’s Progress 8 results are consistently strong. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school investing heavily in innovative teaching practices and staff development.

Responsibilities
- Teaching Biology / Science at KS3, KS4, and KS5 (as applicable)
- Supporting the Science department in curriculum development and progression
- Mentoring and inspiring young learners with passion for STEM subjects
- Collaborating with subject-specific SLT to promote high standards of teaching
- Engaging in on-going Continuing Professional Development
Requirements
To apply, candidates must meet the following person specification criteria:
- Hold, or be obtaining, UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Demonstrate strong academic attainment (A Levels, degree) across STEM disciplines
- GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
- Experience teaching Biology / Science in a secondary school setting
- A commitment to excellence, meeting the Teaching Standards at a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level
- Professional willingness to work collaboratively as part of a Science team
- Ability to engage constructively with feedback and feedback others

Term Details & Salary
- Appointment: Permanent, Full-Time (5 days a week)
- Start Date: September 2026
- Flexible registration deadline support for all candidates
- Salary Scale: Between MPS £39,571 – UPS3 £59,135, plus TLR (size dependent on experience)
