Teacher of Business Studies – Huddersfield Grammar School

Location

Huddersfield, Yorkshire

Contract & Working Hours

  • Contract: Zero Hours
  • Hours: 15 per week (Thursdays and Fridays)

Salary & Terms

Up to £43,635 FTE (subject to a September pay review, depending on experience)

  • Start Date: September 2026
  • UK Applicants Only – No Sponsorship Available

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Teacher of Business Studies to join our team and contribute to outstanding teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality Business Studies instruction up to GCSE level
  • Support student achievement and commitment to inclusion & safeguarding
  • Play an active role in curriculum development and departmental improvement

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Business Studies (GCSE level), with engaging, relevant lesson delivery
  • Align teaching to departmental schemes of work and set ambitious academic targets
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback and maintain accurate assessment records
  • Foster commercial awareness, critical thinking, and enterprise skills in students
  • Contribute to departmental tracking and curriculum evolution
  • Engage with the school community through extracurricular activities, including enterprise clubs, competitions, and trips
  • Adhere to all school policies, including teaching standards, safeguarding, and assessment norms

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Good Honours Degree (preferably in Business Studies, Economics, or a related field)
